Kimbra Leigh

(aka) A.I. Alice & AiJaneAiJoe

Kimbra Leigh is a kind and caring multi-disciplinary artist, author, and lyricist. She is most active as a folk, country, blues, soft rock, and indie singer-songwriter who uses her creative work as a "weapon of choice" in her personal battle against mild cognitive impairment. Her catalog is as big as it is because she's scared of ending up with dementia. To quote her own song, she is "Fighting Like Hell" against it.

Creative Works & Music: She operates through her production studio and record label, Rakeman Broomer Arts, which she co-founded with her husband's support. Her work often explores themes of love, life, and personal resilience. She's never been afraid to delve into deep emotions.

To quote Rob Ashkenas, the INDIE artist and owner of The IMH, The Indie Musician Hub, 24/7 Indie Music, Worldwide, Streaming Radio Show of which Kimbra Leigh is a proud founding member of: "Kimbra Leigh blends storytelling with emotional honesty. She creates across every medium she touches. She's known for her unfiltered lyric writing and the behind-the-scenes vocal session videos she shares, proving her hands-on presence in every part of the process. Her visual art adds another dimension to her voice -- expressive, textured, and deeply personal. Kimbra Leigh is a transparent advocate for using creativity as therapy, showing others that art can be both a lifeline and a legacy.

Music & A.I. Use: She releases music under AiJaneAiJoe & Kimbra Leigh (and as a solo artist on Spotify). AiJaneAiJoe was created as an extension for her creative energies/outlets. Kimbra Leigh writes the lyrics & chooses their song's genre based on the topic she is writing about. She does an extensive amount of tweaking. She co-sings many of her songs, and as her voice continues to improve and her confidence grows, she is allowing her voice to be heard more.

Some songs are just out of Kimbra Leigh's range and others she prefers for them to be sung with a male voice. Plain and simple, she's a one-woman show who uses available tools to reach her creative goals and fights through the "cognitive crap" to get there. There are times that Kimbra Leigh will just try something for fun, will like how it came out, and will leave the song alone. Unless she sings with it, too, it becomes just an AiJaneAiJoe song.  If she didn't help with the lyrics due to her "Let's see what happens if I do this" test, Kimbra Leigh will state "created by" instead of "lyrics by" in these cases.

One way to look at it or understand it is to see AiJaneAiJoe as her very inexpensive composer and singing partner. She learned a long time ago to not take life too seriously. Speaking of which, A.I. Alice is just her radio persona for when she does a live radio show.

Lyrics: Kimbra Leigh writes raw, emotional lyrics and often shares videos of her background vocal recording sessions to show her direct involvement in the music-making process. She also enjoys performing them, knowing the importance of non-verbal communication. Performing the songs, writing and singing daily, editing the videos, uploading and even working on this website all helps in her battle.

Books: As an author, she has published two titles, one of which is available through Amazon: This Child's Eyes. Her first book that she was on a 5-state book signing tour for, With a Stroke of the Pen, is currently undergoing a freshening up. It will be released within the coming months. A third & final book is also underway. The screenplays she has started are currently on the backburner, but she hasn't forgotten about them.

Visual Art: Kimbra Leigh is an amateur painter, with her work currently showcased through her social media platforms.

Background & Advocacy:
Before focusing on her art full-time, Kimbra Leigh had a career as an engagement director, and as a regional peer mentor, for individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. After being diagnosed with MCI herself, she became a transparent advocate for using music, art of all forms, writing, and especially singing as therapy. Her efforts also appear to be working. She highly recommends creative art therapy, especially singing, for anyone who is battling cognitive impairment of any kind.

She was told she could come back from the MCI, and she has every intention to reach that goal.

Kimbra Leigh thanks you for your interest and for your time. She appreciates you, and she invites you to join her on her journey while also sharing your own.
